Hi everyone today I am gonna write on a very important topic i.e. depression what are its types, symptoms & treatment.

Feeling down from time to time is a part of life but when it changes into emptiness and despair take hold on us and don’t go away it can be depression. The lows of depression make it tough to function and enjoy life like you once did. Just getting through the day can be overwhelming. No matter hopeless you feel, you can get better. But first, you need to understand depression. Learning about depression—including its signs, symptoms, causes, and treatment—is the first step to overcoming the problem.

What is depression?

Everyone in his/her life goes through ups and downs in their life and sadness, diappointment and setbacks are normal part of everyone’s life and usually people when someone is undergoing through such emotions they say that he is in depression, but depression is much more then sadness.

Some people describe depression as “living in a black hole” or having a feeling of impending doom. However, some depressed people don’t feel sad at all—they may feel lifeless, empty, and apathetic, or men in particular may even feel angry, aggressive, and restless.

What ever the symptoms are but there is difference between sadness and depression. But the question is how we can say that a person is undergoing through depression?

If you identify with several of the following signs and symptoms, and they just won’t go away, you may be suffering from clinical depression.

  • you can’t sleep or you sleep too much
  • you can’t concentrate or find that previously easy tasks are now difficult
  • you feel hopeless and helpless
  • you can’t control your negative thoughts, no matter how much you try
  • you have lost your appetite or you can’t stop eating
  • you are much more irritable, short-tempered, or aggressive than usual
  • you’re consuming more alcohol than normal or engaging in other reckless behavior
  • you have thoughts that life is not worth living (Seek help immediately if this is the case)

Now let us deeply know about its symptoms. Depression varies from person to person but there are some common things which can be seen in every depressed person, however these symptoms are part of normal life but as alone as the number of symptoms a person has the more he is prone to be in depression. When a person feel that these symptoms are overwhelming or disabling his way of life it is an alarming sign for him. Continue reading
